What We Believe
(An abridged version of our Statement of Faith.)
The Bible: God’s Inspired Word
We believe the Holy Bible is God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16), written by men moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21), and without error (Psalm 19:7-9). It teaches us how to live and equips us for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
The Triune God: Father, Son & Holy Spirit
We believe in one true God (Deut. 6:4; 1 Cor. 8:4) revealed in three persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19, 2 Cor. 13:14).
God the Father
Creator of all things (Gen. 1:1, 31).
Father to believers (John 1:13, 1 Peter 1:3).
Sovereign over all things, working for His glory (Rom. 8:28-30).
Jesus Christ: The Son of God
Fully God and fully man (Phil. 2:6-7).
Born of a virgin, lived a sinless life (Matt. 1:18-23, Heb. 4:15).
Died for our sins and rose again (John 19:30, Rom. 6:9).
The only way to salvation (Acts 4:12, John 14:6).
The Holy Spirit
Active in creation (Gen. 1:1-3).
Inspires understanding of Scripture (Eph. 6:17, 1 Cor. 2:12-14).
Empowers believers with spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:6-8, 1 Cor. 12:7-11).
Creation: God’s Design
We believe God created the universe in six literal days (Gen. 1:1-31).
Mankind: Created & Fallen
Made in God’s image (Gen. 1:26-27).
All have sinned and are separated from God (Rom. 3:23).
Salvation: By Grace Through Faith
Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone (Acts 4:12).
It is a gift of grace through faith (Eph. 2:8-9).
We are called to repent and believe (Acts 2:38-40).
The Local Church
A congregation of baptized believers (Acts 2:41).
Exists to teach God’s Word, worship, and encourage one another (Heb. 10:24-25).
Baptism & The Lord’s Supper
Baptism: By immersion as a symbol of faith in Christ (Matt. 3:16).
Lord’s Supper: Observed in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice (1 Cor. 11:23-26).
Eternal Life & The Return of Christ
Heaven is the eternal home for those who trust in Christ (Matt. 25:37).
Hell is the eternal separation from God for those who reject Him (Matt. 25:41).
Jesus will return to reign (Rev. 20:4-6).
